Setting currency |
Hosting Controller allows you to set your default currency. Hosting Controller supports 6 major currencies:
US Dollar (USD)
Euro (Eur)
United Kingdom Pounds (GBP)
Japan Yen (JPY)
Switzerland Francs (CHF)
Australia Dollars (AUD)
How it works: Host and Reseller can change their currencies from the default US Dollar to any other of the five major currencies Euro, Japanese Yen, GB Pounds, Swiss Franc and Australian Dollars.
All transactions are converted to US Dollars just before sending to the payment gateway based on the last rate available in the database. HC Payment Service updates the latest rates from http://quote.yahoo.com every night.
Resellers look at all purchased plans and their instances in the currency of their Host. They see all their sold plans and plan instances in the currency they set for their own plans.
Example: If the host is in USA and uses US Dollars as his currency, the reseller will see his purchased plan instances as
Silver Plan x 2 intances @US$25 = US$50 per month
Golden Plan x 1 instance @ US$100 = US$100 per month
Total payable to host = US$150 per month
Let us say if he used Japanese Yen as his own currency.
Basic plan x 25 instances @1000 = 25,000
AdvancedPlan x 20 instances @2500 = 50,000
Total Receivable 75,000 per month
Just before charging for these plan instances the system will convert Yens to US Dollars. e.g. if today rats for Yen against US Dollars is 0.008172, an amount of 75,000 x 0.008172 = US$612.90 will be sent to the payment gateway.
Minor differences in exchange rates will appears in users credit cards but they are usually less then 1%. e.g. if a plan is sold for 1000, the bill on the users credit card may vary between 990 to 1010.
Conversion of amounts to US Dollars makes sure the system supports all existing payment gateways.
Note: Once you have sold a plan, you can NOT change currency.
