On website creation, HC creates an administrative virtual directory for HC administrative interface. You can alter the name of the virtual directory created by HC according to your requirement.
Hosting Controller also allows your clients to instantly access their website even before the DNS is propagated. HC creates a virtual directory under the selected domain which points to the 'www' folder of the customer therefore the customer can upload his website and immediately see the web pages as http://domain.com/customersite.
The default documents list can also be specified in the same section.
To set various IIS settings:
Click on Domain Settings in Preferences.
Enter the name that you want to set for the control panel in Control Panel Name field. For example, if control panel name is 'WebCP' then the control panel access for the customer's website will be as http://domain.com/WebCP.
Enter the list of default documents list in Default Documents List field separated by comma ",". Default document is sometimes called default home page also . This is a file sent by a Web server when it receives a request for a URL that does not specify a file name.
Select the website that you want to use for name-based
domains from Website for Name Based Domains
drop-down box. When a website is selected from this list, Hosting Controller
will create a virtual directory in this website. The name of this virtual
directory is same as of domain name. Hence the customer can immediately
view his website.
Example: If select domain is "reseller.net" and a
new customer site "pizza.com" is created then "pizza.com"
can be instantly viewed at http://reseller.net/pizza.com.
Click on the button.
