Hosting Controller provides a powerful auto sign-up option that allows surfers browsing your site set up a new account with you automatically. You need to put a particular link, described in Automatically signing up new clients on the appropriate page of your web site, and Hosting Controller will take care of the rest.

How it works: On auto sign-up page, Hosting Controller will display a list of your hosting plans for new customer to sign-up from. New customer selects a plan and enters desired login name and password. Auto-signup checks the availability of account and website name on hosting server and if available lets customer provide personal information for billing and depending on your selection in Allowing free sign-up, requires user credit card for charging. If credit card is successfully charged, it creates user account (account, website, ftp, mail access, dns) and displays account info. The account info is also emailed to user and a copy is sent to the reseller. An invoice and payment invoice is also generated for the user and can be viewed from Payments.

For the Auto-signup feature to work the system needs to determine under which reseller the new sign-up will be. Following three cases are used to determine the reseller for the new Auto Sign-up .

Case 1: Each reseller is supposed to advertise the sign-up link using appropriately formatted link.  For example, consider a reseller reseller1 having website called hostreseller1.com, the Auto Sign-up Link for this reseller will be :

http://hostreseller1.com/admin/hosting/default.asp?reseller=reseller1

Resellers "reseller1" will place the above link his sign-up page on site to allow users an automatic sign-up without host intervention. This link can be generated automatically by clicking Go to Auto Sign-up Page button.

Case 2: In case reseller name does not appear in query string (/default.asp?reseller=ResellerName), the system will extract the domain name in the URL string and using the domain name try to get the reseller of this domain form database. If the domain name exists in the Hosting Controller database then reseller of that domain will be considered as default reseller for the auto sign-up.

For example, if the hosting link is called as

http://hostreseller1.com/admin/hosting/default.asp

then Hosting Controller will extract "hostreseller1.com" the URL and after checking this domain in database finds "reseller1" as the reseller therefore new sign-up will be automatically under "reseller1".

Case 3: If above two cases fail, then the sign-up will revert to the default Hosting Controller reseller (there is always a default reseller created during installation)  and the new site will be create under the default reseller.
