Adding a site |
Only reseller users are able to enter new web sites into Hosting Controller. You can site all the properties of the new site in one window, including whether it is a domain name-based or IP-based site, what type of mail server it has access to, what their password is, and general site permissions.
Note: This option is available to Reseller user only.
To add a site:
Click on the Add Site link in the Domain Manager menu.
Enter the name of the domain in the Website Name field and choose the site owner from Website Owner drop-down list. If owner is not in list, you may create a new owner by selecting -Create New User- option from list. Refer to Adding a user for more information.
Select website type from Website Type drop-down list. Website can be IP Based or Name Based.
IP Based Domain: IP based domain is created on a dedicated IP. If you don't see IPs list, you may contact host to enable them.
Name Based Domain: Name Based domain is created on a shared IP. Refer to your host for more information.
Click on the Mail Access tick box to enable email on this domain, if required, and choose the type of mail server from the Mail Server drop-down list.
Choose the user who owns the site from the Site Owner drop-down list and enter their password in the Password field. If this is a new user, select -Create New User- from drop-down list.
Click on the button for advanced configuration and then click the button.
Click on the No radio button next to the Allow Anonymous heading if you do not want users to see the website without giving password first.
Click on the required tick boxes next to the Access and Permissions headings. Refer to Setting general access permissions for more information about these settings.
Click on the tick box next to the Enable
Default Document field, if required, and enter the names of the
documents that you want processed first in order, each followed by a comma
and no space.
Note: You can set default documents list from Domain
Settings in reseller Preferences.
On Step 2, select a plan instance from Plan Instance Name drop-down list. If website owner is already issued a plan then this list will display his plans and you may select one of them. But if website owner is not issued any plan then you may issue him a new plan instance by selecting Create a new Plan Instance option. Selecting Create a new Plan Instance will display a new option Base Plan Name. Base plan is the plan which you are selling to this new website.
Select a website from Website to Create Temporary Virtual Directory drop-down list. This website will host temporary access for new website. For example if new site name is 'pizza.com' and you select 'abc.com' as temporary access site then pizza.com can be accessed as http://abc.com/pizza.com. This is an optional step and you may skip new site creation by selecting Do Not Create Temp VDir option. Click on the button.
