Configuring HC to manage remote MailMax
Setting Hosting Controller with MailMax involves three steps.
Installation and configuration of HC Secondary Setup. See the Installation section for setup instructions.
Enabling MailMax in configuration.
Configuring MailMax settings on both Primary and Remote machines..
Configuration On Primary HC Machine:
Login to Hosting Controller as Host Administrator, click on Preferences, click Mail Settings.
In Mail Servers Configurations page, enable Mail On Remote System check box.
Select MailMax from Mail Server Type drop down list. Click button to go to Step 2.
Enter the following information
MailMax virtual Directory Path: Enter MailMax virtual directory path. e.g. http://Computer/MailMax, where Computer is the name of your machine.
MailMax Install Path: Enter the full path where MailMax is installed. e.g. D:\Program Files\MailMax.
DSN Name: Enter the DSN name of MailMax, in MailMax DSN box. Note: Default DSN name for MailMax 4.0 is MailMax2000, while MailMax 3.x sets DSN MailMax by default.
Remote Mail Server IP: Enter the IP of the remote server where MailMax is running. e.g. 192.168.0.2.
Click button.
Configuration On Secondary Machine:
In Start menu Programs folder, go to Hosting Controller and click Settings.
In Settings dialog, click on Mail tab and checkthe Enabled check box.
Select MailMax from Mail Server drop down list and enter the following information
DSN Name: Enter the DSN name of MailMax, in MailMax DSN box.
Click on Servers Tab, enter the IP of the primary machine where primary HC server is installed in Primary Server IP box. Click OK.
After configuration make sure.
DCOM is configured.
HostingController service is running on both primary and secondary machine. Refer to Service Manager for more information.
